Tessera Terms of Use

Version 1.3 — effective 2026-08-13

These terms govern your use of the Tessera website (tessera.company, including the documentation) and the customer portal (portal.tessera.company). By using either, you agree to them.

The operator of the website and the portal, and your counterparty under these terms, is Societatea cu Răspundere Limitată “Tessera Limited” (SRL Tessera Limited), a company registered in the Republic of Moldova under IDNO 1026023127260, with its registered office at str. Miorița 1/c, MD-2028, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. Contact: legal@tessera.company.

They are not the licence for the software. Three documents, three jobs:

CoversBetween
These Terms of Usethe website and your portal accountyou and Tessera
End User License Agreementinstalling and running the Tessera softwareyou and Tessera
Polar Terms of Servicethe purchase itselfyou and Polar

Where they overlap, the EULA governs the software licence and Polar’s terms govern the purchase transaction; these terms govern everything else about using the site and the portal.

1. Who may use this

The portal is for organisations. By creating an account you confirm you are acting in the course of a business and not as a consumer, and that you are authorised to act for the organisation you name.

2. Your account

  • One email address, one account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
  • Keep your credentials to yourself, and enable two-factor authentication if the account can spend money or manage licences.
  • Tell us at legal@tessera.company if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • Everything you tell us — your organisation name, your billing details — must be accurate and kept up to date.

3. What you may not do

  • Use the site or the portal to break the law, or to infringe someone else’s rights.
  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site beyond ordinary reading, or reproduce the documentation as your own.
  • Probe, load-test or attempt to penetrate the site or the portal without our prior written permission. We are glad to hear from security researchers — ask first, at legal@tessera.company, and we will not treat a good-faith report as an attack.
  • Interfere with anyone else’s use, or attempt to reach data that is not yours.
  • Circumvent, disable or misreport the limits of your plan — seat counts, resource caps, or the licence mechanism itself.
  • Resell or sublicense access to the portal.

4. Availability

We aim to keep the portal up, but we do not promise it. It is provided as is, without a service level commitment, and we may take it down for maintenance or change it. The Tessera software you run on your own infrastructure keeps working while the portal is unavailable — see the EULA and the documentation on licence grace periods.

The portal is not a backup of your data and must not be relied on as one.

5. Content and intellectual property

The site, the documentation, the design and the Tessera name and marks are ours or our licensors’. You may read, quote and link to the documentation with attribution; you may not present it as your own or republish it wholesale.

Third-party components used in the site and in the software remain under their own licences, reproduced in the notices distributed with each artifact.

6. Fees

Subscriptions are sold by Polar Software, Inc. as merchant of record. Prices, taxes and renewals are governed by Polar’s terms and by what you were shown at checkout. Whether tax is included in the listed price or added to it depends on where you are: the total payable is the one shown at checkout, before you pay, and Polar itemises any VAT or sales tax on your invoice. Your plan determines the limits enforced by the licence.

Refunds and cancellation have their own page: Refund and Cancellation Policy. In short: a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, for any reason; after that you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the period you have paid for.

7. Ending it

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to close by law, or that is being used to attack the service — where the circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Closing your account does not by itself terminate your software licence; that is governed by the EULA.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and the portal are provided without warranty of any kind. Our liability arising from your use of the site or the portal is limited as set out in the EULA, section 7, and nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will raise the version above and tell account holders by email. Continuing to use the portal after that means you accept the new version.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are resolved by arbitration under the LCIA Rules seated in London — the same as the EULA, section 13, so that one relationship is not governed by two different laws.
